It was no surprise that the rooftop bar at the Standard Hotel was an immediate hit. Opened in 2010, it is just two floors up from the already legendary ""Boom Boom Room"" and has the same spectacular view. Although there is likely some overlap in patronage, the scene here is more relaxed. The furnishings include fake grass, mini hot tubs, pink waterbeds, and a variety of colorful and satisfyingly comfortable garden furniture. This may sound tacky but it succeeds in creating a playful mood that makes this one of our favorite rooftop bars in the City. To get a spot on one of the water beds without having to pay for bottle service, get here right as it opens at 2 pm.
