The Gramercy Terrace
Foodies and localists got terribly excited recently when the Gramercy Park Hotel started serving dishes made with ingredients grown on the rooftop itself. Now that there is more of a focus on dining, it is much easier for non-hotel guests to get up here as the restaurant takes reservations up to ten days in advance (on OpenTable, no less). The space is refreshingly less curated than many other rooftops; there are strings of lights hanging from the walls and an eclectic selection of potted plants. The retractable roof and intriguingly decorated indoor spaces make this an excellent choice in winter.
